The head Nujaba Movement has announced that the Islamic Resistance in Iraq pledges to militarily "liberate" areas under 'occupation' in Iraq.

Akram Kaabi, the Secretary-General of the Nujaba Movement, an Iraqi paramilitary group, posted on his social media, saying: "What will happen next is more significant. The Islamic Resistance has decided to liberate the Iraqi territories under occupation militarily."

Kaabi reaffirmed his stance by saying, "Victory is for Islam. We will not back down. We will not retreat."

This statement comes at a time when a senior official from the U.S. Department of Defense revealed that since the 17th of October, 14 missile and drone attacks have been launched on U.S. military bases in Iraq, and nine similar attacks have been conducted on their bases in Syria, coinciding with the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq has claimed responsibility for the majority of these attacks, stating that they have carried out missile and drone strikes against American bases in Erbil and Anbar.

The lawyer of Wahab Halabjay, the director general of Anti-Terror, and a number of senior counter-terrorism officers, said they were filing a legal complaint at the federal supreme court against the Erbil Investigative Court for its sentencing in absentia of Halabjay and the other senior PUK security officials.

They were tried for the murder of Hawkar Jaff, a former PUK counter-terror officer who was assassinated in KDP-ruled Erbil. The PUK says the charges were trumped up.
